13 April 2026, Official signing of a Native Title Agreement between Gold Fields and the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation (WTAC), on behalf of the Nyalpa Pirniku people, the traditional custodians and native title holders over the lands on which Granny Smith is located. This agreement is the result of years of meaningful engagement and a shared commitment to building real opportunities for future generations. It also reflects what can be achieved through trust, respect and a long‑term approach to shared value. Central to the agreement are employment, training and contracting opportunities, alongside commitments to protect land and waters in ways that are environmentally and culturally aligned with WTAC’s objectives.
WTAC is the registered native title body corporate (PBC) for the Nyalpa Pirniku People, and holds native title rights over approximately 30,900 square kilometres in Western Australia’s North Eastern Goldfields, including Gold Fields’ Granny Smith Mine.
